Chocolate Avocado Peanut Butter Smoothie

In Easy Recipes, Kid-Friendly, Meatless Mondays, Smoothies, Vegetarian

Can you believe this is healthy?

Yep. It totally is (as my 2 year old would say.)

But first, a little back story:

I woke up this morning, it was raining and dark.

Then in the afternoon? It was raining and dark.

By 4:45pm it was…well, you get the picture.

One little ray of sunshine did appear though: my oven got used a lot.

I made:

  • Buffalo Cauliflower Wings (recipe coming soon!)
  • Pizza
  • Maple Acorn Squash
  • Baked Spicy Chicken with Zucchini+Olive Oil

Seriously all so delicious.

And one more thing happened – this Chocolate Avocado Peanut Butter Smoothie!

It’s just as delicious as it sounds.

Incredibly creamy and super chocolately, you’ve got to try this one.

It basically like dessert.

It’s smooth but doesn’t sit heavy in your stomach.

Plus, it’s got a ton of unsaturated fat from the avocado which is a bonus in prediabets.

Little sidebar here:

Did you know that having prediabetes puts you at risk for a heart attack?

Did you know that having prediabetes puts you at risk for a heart attack?

Yep. It’s scary. And true.

People with prediabetes have higher risks of heart and attack and stroke than people with normal blood sugars.

This is surprising for a lot of my clients because they might think ok, high sugar, that’s obviously not good.

But they might not necessarily think heart attack.

The truth is, high blood sugars affect all of your body.

Blood goes everywhere and the extra sugar in that blood can damage organs and blood vessels.

But this damage can start in the earliest stages of diabetes – which is now known as prediabetes.

Which is another reason why prediabetes is so dangerous.

You can have higher than normal blood sugars and have absolutely no symptoms.

Since this is November and it’s Diabetes Awareness Month, I’ll be putting out more articles on this important topic.

You can have higher than normal blood sugars and have absolutely no symptoms.

Now, let’s get back to the chocolate, shall we?

Try this Chocolate Avocado Peanut Butter Smoothie for dessert next time you want something delicious and good for your heart.

Why not grab your favourite person and make this for them. They will definitely thank you.
