Hi there,

Thanks for stopping by – it’s so nice to meet you.

I’m April – the Love Carbs Coach.

I work with people who are done with diets and desperately want to lose weight but struggle to know what to eat.

I teach people how to get exactly what they want, which is to reverse their prediabetes, without giving up their favourite food: Carbs!

I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Nutritional Sciences, a Masters in Public Health, I’m a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator.

With over 10 years experience working with people to show them the path to love carbs and reverse prediabetes, this is my passion.

I have type 2 diabetes in my own family and I’m on the prevention path, just like my clients.

 

 

I’ll level with you here:

I’ve literally tried every diet out there.

Low fat. Atkins. High fat. No carb, etc, etc, etc.

The problem was I really, really didn’t want to give up carbs!

So I would struggle through the diets, fighting and using all my willpower to follow all the rules “right” and ultimately end up eating 6 slices of fresh baked bread with jam in one sitting.

The turning point for me was when I starting introducing healthy carbs into my diet daily.

I had more energy, it was easier to control my weight and I felt amazing!

I started using the same techniques with my clients and they’re getting the same results:

  • They lose weight and tame their muffin top
  • They feel better than they have in years
  • They reverse their prediabetes

Showing people who are ready to end the struggle with food and want to lose weight naturally is what I love to do.

When I’m not coaching clients or blogging or creating recipes, I’m usually with my husband and 2 young boys, at the park, a local farmers market or on a standup paddle board (in the summer – I’m in Canada afterall!)
